[Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders as initial presentation of Sjogren's syndrome: A case report].

Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) is a rare systemic autoimmune disease which is sometimes found in association with other autoimmune disorders including Sjogren's syndrome. Neurological manifestations occur in 20% to 25% of diagnosed cases of Sjogren's syndrome; however, less than 5% of patients with Sjogren's syndrome have neurological manifestations as the initial presenting feature of Sjogren's syndrome. We report the case of an elderly female with longitudinal myelitis as a presenting feature who had positive antibody to aquaporin-4 (NMO-IgG) and Sjogren's syndrome.
