[A clinical study on blood pressure changes before and after tooth extraction in 649 elderly patients].

PURPOSE: To investigate the safety of tooth extraction under ECG monitoring in 649 senile patients with hypertension by observing the blood pressure changes during operation. METHODS: The patients were divided into hypertension group and non-hypertension group. ECG monitoring was carried out during extraction. Blood pressure changes were monitored and recorded. The data was statistically analyzed with SPSS 18.0 software package. RESULTS: The patients' blood pressure in the two groups increased as a result of tooth extraction, and the change was more obvious in patients with hypertension. When blood pressure was controlled to normal range, there was no significant difference in blood pressure between the hypertension group and non-hypertension group. The increase of blood pressure of patients taking beta-receptor blockers was minimal. CONCLUSIONS: Preoperative blood pressure control is important for reducing surgical risk in patients with hypertension during ECG monitoring extraction.
