Dentoalveolar trauma has a significant incidence among both the pediatric and adult populations and is commonly seen in emergency facilities. This article discusses clinically relevant pearls for evaluation and management of dentoalveolar injuries that are often seen with maxillofacial trauma. It discusses recommended evaluation, imaging, and classification of dental and alveolar trauma and reviews common injuries and their treatment in the emergent setting, along with considerations for the pediatric population. This article also includes numerous figures representative of the standard imaging and repair techniques commonly utilized.
